Selling
You’ll always be selling. Learn communication and persuasion, the ability to get someone to see your side of things. This is NOT manipulation. You’re not forcing someone.
Great entrepreneurs have great communication skills. When we have a potential big client, it’s likely going to be me that is going to close the deal. I use this skill every week and nearly every single day.
Confidence
Not arrogance. It’s something within you that says I can get this to the goal line. No matter what your critics think, you can move forward your objective.
It Factor
There’s a magnetism you have that attracts talent and/or investors, partners, etc.
When’s the last time you saw a Tesla commercial? Ever seen one? Tesla doesn’t have to spend money on that kind of marketing. Elon has the IT FACTOR.
Somebody is going to be the face of the company and most of the time that is you, the founder. When you have an IT FACTOR you can attract people who are super talented.
Leadership
Everything lives and dies on leadership. Companies cannot survive without leadership. IT’s critical. You’re making the decisions, potentially fast decisions. You create the company’s strategy and set the direction and goals. That’s leadership.
Smarts
Smart is understanding the few things that relate to YOUR business and/or industry that you are exceptional at. You understand them at the highest level AND you know what you DON’T know!
In the areas you are not so smart you can use talent to fill in those gaps.
