Franchises have a proven successful business model. This removes a great deal of risk from the startup phase. That is the entire premise/ attractive part of a franchise.

Someone develops a model (Example: McDonald’s brothers) and then they sell it to Ray Kroc who took it to the world. But the model of serving burgers, fries, soft drinks, and milkshakes for low prices and extremely fast was a franchise model by the McDonalds brothers.
