As an entrepreneur, how do you evaluate ideas? Is it an analytical, repeatable process? How much of it is based on your own personal feel or intuition?

All my ideas sound great in my head, so they need to be tested. Intuition is great but putting the idea through the fire is better.
It is hard to get your team around an idea you believe in but they don’t.

I want all my business ideas improve on something within my business or solve a problem. If you become a great thinker, you will also learn the skill of vetting your ideas. I quickly run my ideas through a basic filter:

  1. Is this idea helpful in something I am doing?
  2. Is is going to make something more profitable?
  3. Is it doable?
  4. Is is realistic?
  5. Is it a distraction from something I am already committed to doing?
  6. Is it a good idea but wrong timing?
