Can a managing director and a general manager coexist on the same private limited company?

The managing director in an LLC would normally have authority over a general manager.

A general manager is an employee of ownership, hired to oversee operations.

A good illustration would be: an owner of an NFL football team that hires a general manager to run the day to day operations. Clearly, the owner has final approval on everything.
